Karen Caswell – Head Teacher
Karen began her role as Head Teacher in January 2016. Karen has over twenty years’ experience of working within the sector supporting young people, their families and education professionals. Her roles and experience include; Head Teacher, registering and establishing a number of independent special schools, advising schools on supporting pupils with SEMH needs on behalf of Local Authorities and facilitating Local Authority reviews of pupil referral and alternative provision for pupils excluded from mainstream schools.
Paul Wheatley – Deputy Head Teacher
Paul commenced his role as Deputy Head Teacher in March 2016, prior to this he was the school’s SENDCO and Maths and PE Teacher. Paul has over ten years’ experience of working with children and young people with complex social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
Paul is instrumental in ensuring all of the children and young people attending Glebedale School have access to high quality teaching and learning and a challenging and relevant curriculum
Tom Bourne – Pastoral Manager
Tom took up the role as Pastoral Manager in January 2020. He has over ten years’ experience working in similar roles within schools in Stoke-on-Trent.
Tom’s role is to support children, young people and their families to overcome any barriers to education and participation enabling them to achieve the best outcomes. Tom works with the school’s staff to ensure all pupils are safeguarded and protected appropriately.
