We are committed to providing the highest standards in relation to the safeguarding of the children and young people entrusted to our care.
We support all students by:
- Providing a caring, safe, and positive environment within the school
- Encouraging communication, self-esteem, and self-assertiveness
- Effectively tackling bullying and harassment
- Promoting all aspects of the Equality Act 2010
- Training all staff in Child Protection and Safeguarding to the appropriate level and ensuring they are aware of safeguarding procedures within our school
- Providing the infrastructure for effective reporting, record keeping, and working in partnership
We expect all staff and visitors to our school to behave in a way which ensures our children are safeguarded at all times. This includes a duty for any safeguarding concerns to be reported to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL).
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Karen Keeling, Headteacher (karen.keeling@glebedaleschool.co.uk, 01782320773)

Operation Encompass
Our school is part of Operation Encompass which is a national scheme that operates between schools and police forces. School receives reports, before the next school day, when a young person has experienced domestic abuse and other other issues which may impact upon their wellbeing.
For more information please see the letter to parents/carers on our Information Page.
Young Carers
At Glebedale School we believe all young people have a right to an education, regardless of their situation at home. When a young person has a caring responsibility, they may need extra support to help them get the most out of school. We define a Young Carer as a young person who has caring responsibilities for a family member with a disability, health condition or substance misuse issue. Young carers may provide physical care, personal care, help with medication or practical tasks, or provide emotional support.
For more information please speak to our Young Carer Champion – Emily Edwards. (Emily.Edwards@glebedaleschool.co.uk)
