Hayden’s Blossoming Journey 🌱

Hayden waved goodbye to Glebedale in July 2025, proudly clutching some great GCSE passes in Combined Science, Food Technology, Citizenship and Maths. He admits he wishes he’d spent a bit more time revising—but hey, don’t we all!

During Year 11, Hayden (with plenty of support from Mum and school) explored his options at college open days. His hard work paid off when he secured a place at Reaseheath College to study Level 2 Horticulture. His timetable runs Monday to Wednesday, and when he’s not studying he’s busy volunteering at the stunning Trentham Gardens, soaking up their rich horticultural heritage.

Life at Reaseheath is pretty exciting—Hayden gets hands-on experience with cutting-edge facilities like automated glasshouses, design studios, and even 21 hectares of formal gardens. His favourite part? The practical sessions, where he spends hours growing plants in those enormous glasshouses. Alongside the hands-on work, he’s also learning about Health & Safety, business, and even the Latin names of plants (which sound very impressive!).

And of course, Hayden is enjoying one of the perks of Further Education—yes, the freedom, but especially those well-earned Thursday lie-ins!
